About Momence

We empower thousands of businesses by facilitating scheduling and payments, streamlining communication, and automating their business backend. Our customer-facing Momence app is used by hundreds of thousands of customers monthly to book wellness experiences.

A US based company backed by Y Combinator (Summer 2020), we are revolutionizing the experience economy by providing modern software solutions to an underserved industry.

About the role

Our Engineering teammates in Prague have a unique experience at Momence. In an otherwise-remote company, our Prague teammates have grown and thrived in a co-located, hybrid environment, working 3 days a week in a shared space, and 2 days remotely. We’ve found that this supports our Engineering operations in a way that’s uniquely energizing for this team, and aim to further support this arrangement in hiring for this role.

The Prague-based Technical Recruiting and People Ops Specialist serves a unique support function, and is tasked with building the team in Prague, as well as supporting its in-office experience. While your primary function will be to drive tech recruiting in Prague (and occasionally elsewhere across our global team), you’ll also support the team and its department leader by facilitating cross-geo engagement and communications, supporting Office Management of our co-working space, and facilitating in-person social and engagement programming.

As the Prague team’s Recruiting and People Ops Specialist, you can expect to impact the following responsibilities:

  • Tech recruitment: Lead the end-to-end, full cycle recruitment process for tech roles, including software engineers, engineering support, and designers, focusing on the Prague market, while occasionally supporting tech hiring efforts in other locations as needed.
  • Tech team growth: Collaborate with hiring managers and Engineering leadership to understand staffing needs, define strategically aligned candidate profiles, and ensure an inclusive, positive candidate experience.
  • Local recruitment presence: Attend fairs, meetups, and career events to represent the company, building relationships, and expand the talent pipeline.
  • People operations support: Assist People Ops teammates with projects and initiatives, providing additional support and insight - particularly as is pertinent to the Prague teammate experience - when needed.
  • Cross-geo communications support: Work closely with our US-based Director of Engineering to ensure communication between the team and its leadership run smoothly.
  • In-person team building: Support the team’s social connectivity and engagement.

This is a full time, contracted, hybrid position, for which we’re considering candidates who reside within commuting distance to downtown Prague, CZ. We ask that you maintain a regular office presence of 3 days per week, working 2 days remotely from a location of your choosing.

About you

You. Love. People. Approachable, communicative, organized, and thoughtful, you’re most engaged and energized when you can see the impact of your work on growing an exceptionally talented team. An experienced technical recruiter, you’re confident in your ability to source, to assess, and to manage a candidate experience to welcome highly qualified teammates with the potential to grow with our team. No stranger to tech orgs, you’re familiar with the speed and day-to-day operations of a fast-paced software development team, as well as the nuances of supporting a thriving engineering subculture.

If you’re a talented technical recruiter with some broader People Ops experience, and you want to impact the ongoing experience of the teammates you bring into an organization, we might just be a great fit!

What you should have

While we welcome experience from a wide range of career and industry backgrounds, all candidates should meet the following qualifications for consideration:

  • Demonstrated successful experience leading end-to-end recruitment filling technical roles (software development and engineering, UX and UI architecture and design, web development, mobile and application development, etc.).
  • Some experience in People Ops and HR work outside of recruitment.
  • A knack for data-driven recruitment. You track and own your recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, quality of hire, candidate experience), leveraging this data to improve your own recruitment processes.
  • Excellent people skills; you’re an approachable, skilled communicator, who’s thoughtful in balancing the needs of a candidate or teammate experience against the need for teamwide and business success.
  • Experience working and collaborating effectively across multiple time zones and geographies; you leverage your in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous organization and communication to build trusted working partnerships regardless of location.
  • Czech and English fluency: you’re a skilled written and verbal communicator, able to distill and communicate myriad ideas to both local and global audiences.

We’ll be particularly excited if you also have

  • Experience recruiting in or for early stage startups (seed through Series B or similar).
  • Experience in an HRBP or similar role.
  • Strong network connections in the tech, developer, startup, or incubator spaces in Prague.
